Cheeseworld.ca Shipping & Delivery Policy:

Food safety is our paramount concern. We employ policies, services and use materials in our shipping and delivery processes that are consistent with Canadian food safety regulations.

Please be sure to inspect and refrigerate your order immediately upon delivery to maintain product freshness, quality and safety. If your order was not refrigerated immediately upon receipt and kept at proper temperatures (minimum of 0°C and maximum of +4°C), please do not consume the product.

Cheeseworld.ca will not be responsible for product or delivery issues caused by conditions or factors outside of its control. They include, but are not limited to:

  1. Use of incorrect or inappropriate shipping addresses, such as P.O. boxes.
  2. Shipments to apartments, condominiums or businesses without a receptionist, concierge or security service authorized to accept deliveries.
  3. Delivery attempts made to recipients who are unavailable to receive their shipment.
  4. There is no place to safely drop the delivery at the shipping address.
  5. Delayed deliveries due to weather and other, “Acts of God”.
  6. Shipments which remain unopened for durations beyond the limitations of packaging.
  7. Product(s) that have spoiled due to a failure to refrigerate immediately upon receipt.
  8. Lost or stolen deliveries.  

 

Where appropriate, and at our sole discretion, a fee of $15 or more may be charged for failed deliveries caused by factors or conditions outside of our control. Please review our Site’s policies and FAQ’s to ensure that your order can be successfully delivered.

Shipping and Delivery FAQ’s:

Where do you currently deliver?
Currently, we deliver to most postal codes within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and the Montreal Census Metropolitan Area (CMA). Your postal code will be requested upon entering the Site to determine whether you reside within our coverage area. You may also refer to our, “Cheeseworld.ca Delivery Area by Postal Code” chart below to check whether you live within our current service area. We do not ship outside of Canada. 

Can I pick-up my order?
No. We cannot offer this feature at this time.

Does natural cheese require special packaging and shipping methods?
Natural cheese is a perishable product. At your local grocery store, it is kept in a refrigerated environment where the ambient temperature is a minimum of 0°C and maximum of +4°C. Therefore, the safe transportation of natural cheese requires the use of specialized, insulated cartons and ice packs. It is also critical that perishable items arrive at your door quickly so they can be stored in your refrigerator immediately upon delivery.

Are the ice packs and insulated carton reusable or recyclable?
Yes, the ice packs and insulated carton are reusable, and the cardboard shell of the shipping carton is recyclable. Please check with your local municipality regarding the recyclability of these items.

What is the delivery fee?
We charge a flat shipping fee of $10 per order. For orders with a final value greater than $70, before shipping and taxes, we offer Free Shipping.

How do I know when my order will be delivered?
Please refer to our, “2022 Delivery Schedule” here to view our normal order and delivery schedule and our modified schedule for 2022 Holidays and special occasions.

How many delivery attempts will be made?
Due to the perishable nature of natural cheese, only one (1) delivery attempt will be made. Therefore, is it critical that someone is available to receive and refrigerate your order immediately upon receipt to maintain product quality, freshness and food safety.

What happens if I, or someone else, can’t be home to receive my package?
Please remember that we can only make one (1) delivery attempt due to the perishable nature of the product.If someone cannot be home to receive your order, the Driver may, at their sole discretion, “Safe Drop” the package. A, “safe drop” could be used if the package can be left unattended in a covered area, and will not pose a safety hazard by obstructing entrances, exits or walkways.

If I want the order delivered or safe-dropped to my back porch, how do I communicate this?
If you would like to request delivery to a side door, back door, back porch or other area of your shipping address, you can make this request by providing such direction during the check-out process. In Step 3 (Shipping Method), there is a comment box where such requests can be made. The safe execution of your request is at the sole discretion of the delivery agent.

How do you deliver to apartments, condominium buildings or commercial offices?
In the case of apartments, condominiums and commercial offices where the delivery cannot be made directly to you, deliveries can be made to a Concierge, security personnel or receptionist. Please ensure that the receiver is aware of the incoming delivery and requirement to immediately refrigerate your order upon receipt to maintain product quality, freshness and food safety. Please remember that we can only make one (1) delivery attempt due to the perishable nature of the product.

On the day of delivery, do I receive any communication from the Driver?
If you have provided your phone number, the Driver may send you a SMS message prior to delivery.
